Education: Upon graduating in the top of his high school class of almost 2000, Marshall had 32 hours of AP credits and earned the Presidential Scholarship to attend Brigham Young University. He studied English, linguistics, and religion. Like many entrepreneurs, Marshall fell in love with the challenges of business ownership during his college years. After 3 years of college, he shifted his focus to starting DPS and working 60+ hours a week. The education and experience gained since then have been very rewarding and helped to earn him recognition among his peers as a business leader and industry expert.

Merchant Services Experience: After seeing an obvious deficiency of professional, honest, and service-oriented merchant service companies, Marshall founded Discount Payment Services. Since 2002, he has been successful in fulfilling his vision of providing exceptional service levels with a personal touch. Each client of DPS has 24/7 access to support through DPS’ phenomenal customer care team, their back-end providers, and through Marshall directly.

Responsibilities at DPS: Merchant Accounts, POS Systems, Customer Support for merchant accounts and POS.

Outside Interests: Spending time with family, performing magic, travelling, drag racing, car shows, movies, video games, water sports. Marshall enjoys volunteering for his church, for the Boy Scouts of America, for the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, and various other community programs and fundraising efforts.

Michael Greenwald

Education: Michael received his Associate of Arts Degree from Mesa Community College in 1973 and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University in 1974. With a lifelong desire to be an attorney, he attended the Arizona State University College of Law and graduated Cum Laude in 1978.

Merchant Services Experience: After 25 years in the hospitality business overseeing the development, construction and operation of 90+ hotels as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Woolley Hotel Company, Michael retired from that position to work on personal real estate investments. In 2009, Michael accepted the position of Business Manager with DPS.

Responsibilities at DPS: Michael is responsible for the day to day administrative operation of DPS working with all departments to ensure a coordinated effort. In addition to these responsibilities, he is also responsible for overseeing the company’s finances and legal matters.

Outside Interests: Reading, family history, classic movies, Broadway musicals and country music are a few of the things that he enjoys outside of the office. Additionally he spends a considerable amount of time in service for his church and with his family, especially his 8 grandchildren.

Shahayla Kennedy

Education: Shahayla attended Rio Salado College focusing her studies on classes associated with the history and function of the credit card industry as well as classes in credit card customer service, terminal communication procedures and card processing.  She is currently pursuing her ABUS in business intelligence through Mesa Community College and Grand Canon University.

Merchant Services Experience: Shahayla came to DPS from TSYS Acquiring Solution FKA Vital where she served as a help desk support tech, customer service representative and Executive Assistant to the General Counsel.  She gained extensive experience with TSYS in the areas of new client boarding and training.

Responsibilities at DPS: Shahayla is responsible for all merchant services installations and training as well as customer and technical support for both merchant services and point of sale systems.  Additionally, she assists customers with rate reviews and new accounts.

Outside Interests: Shahayla enjoys hiking, biking, reading, movies, family time, crafts, learning, coffee, camp fires, chocolate and much much more.

Kevin Cecil

Education: Kevin has a Certificate of Completion in Technical Support Services from Rio Salado College.

Merchant Services Experience: Kevin has over 5 years technical support experience and over 4 years merchant services support experience.  Prior to coming to DPS he was a Technical Support Representative for Cox Communications.  Kevin also worked in the merchant Services industry for TSYS, Paymentech, and First American Payment Services.

Responsibilities at DPS: Kevin currently serves DPS as a Customer Care Representative where he installs and repairs point of sale systems and credit card terminals.  Additionally, he provides technical support and account maintenance.

Outside Interests: Kevin currently lives in Chandler, AZ with his wife and 3 children.  He enjoys movies, new technology, design and audio/video set up.

Jim Morici

Merchant Services Experience: Jim spent 11 years with VISA as an account manager working with issuing banks in the VISA system.

Responsibilities at DPS: As Customer Relations Manager Jim is responsible for communicating with merchants and maintaining healthy working relationships.  He provides customer service and technical support.  Additionally, he provides rate reviews for existing merchants and opens new and additional accounts.

Outside Interests: Jim enjoys rebuilding, restoring and racing cars as well as hot rodding.

Pat Murphy

Contracted Account Representative

Education: Associate of Arts degree from Phoenix Community College

Merchant Services Experience: Pat joined the merchant services industry in 2009 as a full time account representative.  His prior experience was that of a long time general contractor in both Phoenix and Show Low.

Responsibilities at DPS: As an Outside Account Representative, Pat is responsible for marketing merchant services in the White Mountain area of Arizona.

Outside Interests: According to Pat, his current situation does not allow for extra time to pursue hobbies, stating that this is not a complaint, just a reality.  Those who work with him know that when he is not working he dedicates his time to family.

Billy Bolander

Contracted Account Specialist

Merchant Services Experience: Billy has acquired his knowledge of the merchant services at DPS having provided accounting/bookkeeping services since 2009.  Billy has extensive internet and retail based business experience operating a costume business.

Responsibilities at DPS: Billy is responsible for the day to day financial records of DPS including A/P, A/R, J/E, banking reconciliations, and monthly state and city taxes.

Outside Interests: Billy enjoys kayaking in the Arizona lakes and the Salt River.  Additionally he likes, camping, hiking, swimming golfing and pretty much anything outdoors.  He has been a certified SCUBA diver for 23 years and was recently contracted for 2 summers to work with a salvage company salvaging the 1715 Spanish Galleon Fleet in Vero Beach, FL and the 1733 Fleet in the Florida Keys.

Dylan Van Eseltine

Education: Dylan received his Associate of Arts degree in Computer networking and Cisco Networking administration from Mesa Community College.

Merchant Services Experience: Dylan has 5 years experience in the merchant services industry with both DPS and Paymentech.

Responsibilities at DPS: Dylan is responsible for maintaining the office network and providing customer support when needed.  Additionally he is an integral part of the point of sale installation team.

Outside Interests: Dylan enjoys strategy games and RPG games.  He also finds enjoyment in building, upgrading and fixing his own computers.

Jesse Rucker

Contracted Account Representative

Merchant Services Experience: Jesse joined the merchant services industry in 2013 as a contract account representative for DPS. Jesse has a vast sales experience selling security systems and satellite services prior to coming to DPS. Jesse has a current license which allows him to sell insurance in the state of Arizona.

Responsibilities at DPS: As a contract Account Representative, Jesse is responsible for marketing merchant services and point of sale systems in the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas of Arizona.

Outside Interests: Jesse’s hobbies include golf and competitive volleyball. He also enjoys spending time with his family which includes trying to keep up with two small boys.

Mallory Rucker

Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper

Merchant Services Experience: Mallory has been employed by DPS off and on since 2005. Prior to joining DPS Mallory worked for Kent Ellsworth and Company a Gilbert, AZ accounting firm.

Responsibilities at DPS: Mallory performs administrative duties for DPS and assists with keeping the company’s books.

Outside Interests: Mallory’s hobbies include reading and crafts which is sometimes difficult while taking care of her two small boys.
